My name is Chris Orban and I am running for the State Board of Education to represent District 6. I am an associate professor of physics at Ohio State University serving both the physics department in Columbus and the OSU Marion campus. I am honored to be the Ohio Education Association endorsed candidate in the race.

I have a lot of experience serving on committees with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, and I have also worked with many teachers inside and outside Ohio in efforts to modernize the curriculum. I have also testified in the Ohio statehouse on expanding access to Computer Science

I am running for the State Board of Education because the future of our state depends on the success of public education.

My platform page outlines my views on education policies and funding. Without hesitation, I fully support the platform of the Democratic party including their stance on reproductive rights. I have a daughter and, in November 2023, I voted in favor of Issue 1 which enshrines reproductive freedom and abortion rights into the Ohio constitution.
